Our fields in Dajç, near Shkodër, have a mild coastal climate and fertile soil, which gives a long growing season and strong root systems. Albania is close to the main European markets: trucks reach Italy by ferry from Durrës or travel by road through the Balkans to central Europe.
Documents for import into the EU
Every consignment travels with a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Albanian plant health authority after inspection. On the EU side, the importer must be registered with the national plant health authority, and the consignment is checked at the border control post — usually your customs agent submits the prior notification (CHED-PP in TRACES). Some genera have specific EU requirements, so we confirm the documents for each variety before you order.
When to order: the lifting season
Field-grown trees are lifted with their rootball mainly from late autumn to early spring, when the plants are dormant or growing slowly. This is the best time for deciduous trees such as Platanus and Liquidambar. Conifers and evergreen standards can also be lifted in autumn and spring. Booking early gives you the best choice of sizes and forms.
Transport and loading
You arrange the transport with your own carrier. We prepare the plants, protect the rootballs and crowns, load the truck professionally and hand over all export and phytosanitary documents on the loading day. Mixed loads are possible: one truck can carry several varieties and forms.
